PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is kicking off the Mardi Gras season with a king cake-flavored skinny protein velvet ice, along with its king cake lattes, hot coffee and cold brews. The LTOs are available through February.
The king cake beverages are available at all PJ’s locations now through the end of February, according to a press release.
” Mardi Gras is a time of community celebration for New Orleans residents and visitors,” Reid Nolte, director of marketing of PJ’s Coffee, said in the release. “At PJ’s, we love the communal spirit of the holiday — and think there’s no better way to celebrate than with a cup of king cake-flavored coffee.”
The velvet ice, which features low-calorie PJ’s original cold brew concentrate, fat-free milk and EAS Whey Protein Concentrate, meets the Ochsner Eat Fit guidelines. A 16-ounce cup has 21 grams of protein and less than 1 teaspoon of added sugar.
Founded in 1978, with its first locations in New Orleans, PJ’s Coffee is located across the U.S. in seven states and has locations in Vietnam. The company is slated to hit its 100th location in early 2018.
