Starting in Baltimore 2018, Coffee Fest has introduced several enhancements to the Latte Art World Championship Open, including new judges, an improved seeding process and increased prize money. These improvements are intended to help enhance the competition and make it accessible to rising latte art competitors.
Topping the list of changes, the judges’ panel will now consist of three judges – two of whom will be regular judges appearing in all three Coffee Fest host cities in 2018 – Baltimore, Denver and LA. A third guest judge representing the local coffee community will rotate at each show.
Among other notable changes, the prize amounts have increased with first place earning $2,500, second place earning $1,500 and third place earning $1,000. Winners will also receive a custom designed trophy and certificate. Competitors who advance will be announced on Coffee Fest’s social media channels and on the Coffee Fest website daily during the event.
