With jasmine tea kombucha, mandarin-infused lychee juice and popping candy on the ingredients list — and a distinctive grape-bubblegum flavour — it is hard to believe it’s a coffee at all.

But the experimental drink proved the winning combination for Perth barista Ziggy Varamulia, securing him top spot at the weekend’s Western Regional Barista Championship in Adelaide.
