Monarch High Students With Disabilities Staffing New School Coffee Shop

Teaching a job skills class to students with disabilities at Louisville’s Monarch High, Jennifer Cohen came up with the idea to start a school coffee shop.

With help from Boulder’s Ozo Coffee that included discounted coffee and training for the students and community donations, MoHi Perk debuted about a week ago in the school’s student center.

The shop, staffed by 15 to 20 students in the school’s Intensive Learning Center with the support of six peer mentors, is open three hours each morning.
