Over the years many have asked how CoffeeTalk magazine came to be. The answer is, Java U Business Basics.
In 1993 two very talented writers and professionals joined me to write Java U - a 280 page guide for how to open a coffeehouse. It became apparent very quickly that there was a need for on-going information to help retailers survive and thrive in the increasingly competitive specialty coffee industry. In 1994, I started CoffeeTalk magazine to provide ongoing useful information.
Originally Java U was sold at $250 per copy and there are still many hundred copies out there on bookshelves, in libraries, and resource centers. In fact, I would love to hear from anyone who found it useful in their businesses.
I just received a call looking for Java U -- from one of the original readers who still wanted to share this information. He said he had a big challenge tracking it down and so I promised to make it easily available for anyone to read. I'm sorry I no longer have the original files on my computer but here are pdf files you are welcome to download, read and share.
