Coffee, crepes and more will be hot and fresh soon at the new 60 Beans Coffee in Sherwood Commons on Morris Blvd.
Owners Mohamed and Lamia Awad said they hope to open their New York-themed coffee shop within the next week, offering freshly brewed coffees, espresso, store-baked pastries and fresh juices and smoothies. They will also have a dedicated station for made-to-order crepes.
The Awads have been in Morristown since November, when they moved to the area from New York City. They said they initially were not sure about the change, but have grown to love the area and the people.
Lamia said she has worked in coffee shops and had a dream of someday owning her own business. When her husband agreed with the idea, she knew the time was right to move forward, and Morristown ended up being the perfect place for them to start.
“People here need a place like this where they can just hang out and have a good coffee,” she said.
She said they hope to hire a couple of employees and give business time to build before beginning to add more to the menu. They will start with the made-to-order beverages and crepes, breakfast items and salads before adding other foods.
Lamia said 60 Beans Coffee will be open every day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
