For nearly 30 years, Kaladi Brothers Coffee has started the new year by giving back and donating 100% of New Year’s Day drink sales to a local charity.
“It started as coffee kids and kind of fell apart,” Kaladi Brothers Coffee President Tim Gravel said. “Then we changed it to New Year’s Day of Giving.”
The change was inspired by Kaladi Brothers executive Dale Tran, who passed away unexpectedly in 2017 at the age of 42.
“He wanted to make this a lot bigger than what we were doing,” Gravel said. “He grew this from doing about $13,000 a day, for New Year’s Day, to at one point he even made it over $100,000.”
