RENO, Nev. (KOLO)- A new coffee shop is trying to bring the community and our local law enforcement together with one cup of coffee at a time.
Code Coffee may look like your typical coffee shop. It is at 300 S. Wells Avenue #5, Reno. It has the basics, coffee and food. But if you look around you will see law enforcement and first responder memorabilia everywhere.
“The whole shop is geared towards them,” says Code Coffee owner Destinee Sanford. “I know they need something really fast, they need something hot to eat and they need something hot to drink.”
Sanford grew up dreaming of owning her own coffee shop one day. She just did not know what kind of shop she would have.
“I ended up marrying a police officer,” says Sanford. “I just thought the people who serve the city need a little support.”
So Code Coffee was born. First responders, law enforcement, veterans, and family members of those who lost their lives serving the community get 20 percent off food and beverages.
