On March 20, Boston’s well-respected Night Shift Brewing will open another location at Lovejoy Wharf, just next to the TD Garden. Perhaps surprisingly, the focal point of the facility won’t be the 10-barrel brewhouse, or the 80-seat waterfront patio, or its eye-popping location. Rather, it’ll be Night Shift Roasting, the brewery’s new on-site roastery and craft coffee bar.
“We’re treating this thing like we treated the brewery,” said Michael Oxton, one of Night Shift’s three cofounders. “We’re going to produce product in small batches, get customer feedback, and grow.”
Although Night Shift is the largest and most recent brewery to step into the craft coffee game, they’re not the first.
