Coffee on the campus of North Central College is more than a means to keep students awake when they’re finishing a project or studying for a test.
This month the college roasted its first batch of Guatemalan-raised coffee beans in its new 450-square-foot, on-campus Coffee Lab.
Only a handful of college-operated facilities dedicated to studying the craft and business of coffee exist in the United States, and North Central’s is the first to take a holistic approach from seed to cup.
