There’s a cool, hip barista ready to brighten up your hospital visit, thanks to a new partnership between Subculture Coffee owners and Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
A new concept called The Coffee Lab opened Monday, offering the specialty coffees and a taste of urban lifestyle in an unexpected setting.
An independent coffee shop in a hospital? Subculture Coffee co-owner Sean Scott says he was initially puzzled when Good Sam reached out to him, asking if he would consider opening a location in the hospital’s revamped foyer.
“It struck me as odd at first. I never really thought about opening a space in a hospital,” said Scott, 39. “But then I visited and it made a lot of sense.”
