Beer with your doughnuts? Dunkin’ Donuts is testing coffee-flavored beers.
The coffee chain will partner with another Boston-based company, Harpoon Brewery, to brew Dunkin’ Coffee Porter, a dark classic porter brewed with Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.
Tenemu reported Dunkin’ Donuts filed labels with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. The 6 percent ABV porter will be packaged in 12-ounce cans and 12-ounce bottles.
Harpoon spokesman Chris Bonacci told Boston.com the beer will likely be released in late October or early November. It is anticipated the beer will be distributed regionally, and if it does well, could be released nationally.
Last year Dunkin Donuts teamed up with Wormtown Brewery in Massachusetts to brew the DDark Roasted Brew, sold only at the brewery’s taproom.
