Tim Hortons and Special Olympics Canada Celebrate Global Day of Inclusion Efforts

On Wednesday August 29 at 9am, Tim Hortons presented Special Olympics Canada with a cheque for the proceeds from the exclusive Special Olympics Donut, which was available on July 21 to commemorate Global Day of Inclusion, designed in collaboration with Savannah, a 14-year-old Alberta-based Special Olympics athlete.

The Global Day of Inclusion aims to help create a world where all individuals are recognized and included. Special Olympics Canada is proud to announce that, with the help of Tim Hortons as its Official Partner of Day of Inclusion, a total of $121,000 was raised for Special Olympics daily and year-round community programs across the country, which enrich the lives of Canadians with intellectual disabilities through the transformative power of sport.

About Special Olympics Canada

The Canadian chapter of this international movement is dedicated to enriching the lives of Canadians with an intellectual disability through the transformative power and joy of sport. Operating out of sport clubs in 12 provincial and territorial Chapters, this grassroots movement reaches beyond the sphere of sport to empower individuals, change attitudes and build communities. From two-year-olds to mature adults, more than 45,000 athletes with an intellectual disability are registered in Special Olympics year-round programs across Canada. They are supported by more than 21,000 volunteers, including more than 16,000 trained coaches. For more information, visit or follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @SpecialOCanada.
