Dean’s Beans Recognized As A “Best For The World” B Corp For Exceptional Community Impact Around The World

Orange, MA; 9-4-2019 – Dean’s Beans Organic Coffee Company, a Certified B Corporation, has been named a Best For The World honoree in recognition of their significant positive impact on communities of coffee farmers around the world, and for how they’ve built this level of care into their business model.

Ranking in the top 10 percent of all 3,000 B Corps for their positive impact on communities, Dean’s Beans earned this honor because of their exemplary supplier relations with coffee farmers, and involvement in the coffee farming communities, as well as their local community. Dean’s Beans was also assessed on their practices and policies around community development, including whether their product or service is designed to solve a social issue, such as access to basic services, health, education, economic opportunity and the arts. Dean’s Beans made this Best For The World list thanks to exceptional practices, like their direct People-centered Development projects in the coffeelands.

“We design and fund People-Centered Development projects in each community we work with, based on the communities’ chosen priorities. This award-winning approach focuses on the real needs of local communities for the ecological, economic and social necessities of life that are often disrupted by conventional development assistance. This is all in direct partnership with the farmers who know better than anybody else how to help themselves.”
~ Dean Cycon, Founder/CEO

Dean’s Beans partners with coffee farming communities on projects ranging from gender equity, clean drinking water, food sovereignty, youth in agroforestry, and combating climate change, endangered species and migratory bird habitat, children’s literacy, and cervical cancer detection and treatment. Dean’s Beans also supports many local non-profits, social justice issues and advocates on the state level for worker’s rights and environmental protection.

Best For The World recognition is administered by B Lab, the global nonprofit that certifies and supports Certified B Corporations, which are for-profit companies dedicated to using business as a force for good. Today there are 3,000 Certified B Corporations across 64 countries and 150 industries, unified by one common goal: to redefine success in business.
