Rich Blake started Yallah Coffee as a one-man band simply to roast high-quality coffee, and support the lifestyle he wanted to live.
“Surfing, family time and traveling to find coffee when possible,” he recalls. “I had the idea when I came across an old 1950s roaster in need of renovating. The capacity was tiny, only roasting 3kg batches, so the vision was never to grow a big company.”
Five years on, and his company, based in Cornwall, UK, employs seven people with an annual turnover of almost half a million pounds ($615,000).
