Taiwan will continue to increase its imports of agricultural products from Honduras, President Tsai Ing-wen said Tuesday.
Tsai made the remark when she received Honduras Vice President Ava Rossana Guevara Pinto at the Presidential Office that day.
In addition to beef and coffee, this year’s imports from the Central American diplomatic ally might also include melons and in the future, avocados, said Tsai.
The president said Honduras was the first stop she made when she visited Central America and she thanked Pinto for visiting Taiwan and strengthening the friendship between the two countries.
Pinto arrived in Taiwan Oct. 9 and will stay until Oct. 13, during which she will also meet with Vice President Chen Chien-jen, Foreign Minister David Lee and other officials.
