Lavazza India has forayed into the home coffee segment with the launch of premium pure filter coffee. The new product, Il Mattino Vivace, priced at Rs150 for 200 grams, is made at Lavazza’s plant in Sri City. It will be available in retail stores and some grocery stores catering to premium customers. Hotels and the office sector account for more than 90 percent of Lavazza India’s revenue. With the new launch, Lavazza India aims to enhance its market share in the home segment. In India, about 7.7 lakh tonnes per annum of coffee is consumed, of this 80 percent is contributed from consumer homes.
