Green Path Events and Green Consultancy Events, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture &Tourism (MoCT), among other governmental bodies, will host the six-day long Ethiopian Coffee Week at the Millenium Hall, Addis Abeba. The inauguration is scheduled for February 13, 2018.
The expo aims to have the Ethiopian traditional coffee ceremony registered as an intangible world heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific &Cultural Organisation ( UNESCO).
The event will showcase coffee ceremonies practised by the different Nations, Nationalities &Peoples (NNPs) of Ethiopia, Bezawit Tenkir, operations director of Green Path Events, remarked in her speech at a press conference held in Hilton Addis Hotel, along Menelik II Avenue.
Representatives from the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute (EBI) and coffee exporters attended the press briefing held on Wednesday, October 18.
Over 70 international coffee purchasers, over 200 domestic exporters and producers are expected to attend the expo. As the highest exported item in the country, coffee fetched close to 900 million dollars in the past fiscal year.
