Dells Commission Approves Coffee Roaster For Bella Goose

From: wiscnews.com

The plan commission for the Wisconsin Dells approved the use of a coffee roaster for Jordan Heesch of Bella Goose Coffee at the shop’s planned new location on Eddy St. The plan commission unanimously approved the roaster during a meeting Dec. 10.

Bella Goose is currently operating out of the Riverfront Terrace at 27 Broadway St., Wisconsin Dells. The coffee shop will have two new locations, with the 744 Eddy St., Wisconsin Dells location serving as a “craft roasting experience,” according to Allison Heesch. The location will offer coffee beans, tours, demonstrations, teach individuals how to roast coffee at home, and sell limited batches of coffee. It will not have a full menu.

The coffee shop will open it’s new cafe location in the spring of 2019 with a full menu at 216 Washington Ave., Wisconsin Dells, next to Mauer’s Market IGA.

The use of a roaster requires a conditional use permit from the city as the roaster can potentially give off odors that are considered a nuisance. Although Bella Goose operated for about seven years from a location next to Timber Falls “without any complaints” regarding odors according to Heesch, the shop did not previously have a conditional use permit.
