Bentley’s Coffee, the locally owned coffee purveyor named for the owner’s yorkie-shihtzu dog, will replace a Starbucks in downtown Salem. The March 2020 opening will be the business’s first walk-in only location.
Owner Brandon Eastman founded Bentley’s in 2012 as a four-person business. It has grown over the past seven years to employ some 40 workers and serve about 1,500 customers a day across three drive-through locations in Salem and Keizer, according to company estimates.
Starbucks’ decision to close its cafe at 399 Court St. NE eased the way for Bentley’s to expand further. Starbucks’ location at 205 Church St. SE downtown remains open.
