Seattle, WA – January 2013 – Atlas Coffee Importers LLC today announced the hire of a new Senior Trader. Kim Giroir has joined Atlas Coffee Importers, LLC, bringing a depth of knowledge and experience to the company. Kim’s experience covers the full green coffee supply chain from buying, operations, warehousing, quality approval and roasting.
Kim began her work in coffee as a green Arabica buyer for Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, OH. Most recently, she worked at Starbucks Coffee Company as the Senior Manager responsible for green coffee quality and operations. Kim is also a certified Q grader. In her role at Atlas she will be primarily responsible for larger volume specialty trading.
Atlas Coffee Importers LLC was the first green coffee importer in Seattle to maintain a broad offering and consistent, locally-warehoused supply of exceptional quality green coffees. After 14 years in business, Atlas now stores coffee in multiple warehouses around the US and serves hundreds of clients throughout North America, Asia, and Australia. Atlas is one of only a handful of coffee trading houses to operate independently. With a staff of fifteen, Atlas’ offices and coffee laboratory are located Seattle’s Crown Hill neighborhood.
Atlas has historically focused on the needs of specialty coffee roasters, and is well positioned to support buyers of any size looking to strengthen their connection to origin. Atlas emphasizes directly connecting coffee growers – ranging from independent small-volume producers to co-ops and estates – with roasters interested in highest-quality coffees.
