Winn Dixie Now Serving Kahwa at Newly Remodeled Jacksonville Location’s Coffee Shop

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., February 22, 2017 — Kahwa Coffee Roasting Company today revealed its second coffee shop installation with Winn Dixie at their recently remodeled Jacksonville, Florida location. This marks the first Kahwa Coffee location in Winn-Dixie’s ad Southeastern Grocers’ home territory in Northeast Florida.

Located at 10915 Baymeadows Road in the Point Meadows shopping center, the newly remodeled store was described by the Winn Dixie CEO Ian McLeod to Jacksonville’s Financial News and Daily Record that the store was designed to emphasize freshness, quality, value and the “sense of something cooking in the kitchen,” referring to the on-site food preparation.

While this newly remodeled location re-opened just this month, it’s coffee shop which features Kahwa Coffee exclusively, debuts today. With Kahwa Coffee’s signature blend already available in Winn Dixie locations across Florida, both parties have now seen their coffee shop partnership expand as the brand rolls out the refreshed look at many more locations to come.
“Northeast Florida is a brand new market for our Kahwa cafe model, so we were very eager from the start to seize this opportunity,” said Kahwa owner Raphael Perrier. “Winn-Dixie and Kahwa have watched this concept grow from the newly remodeled location in Tampa, and we are ready to share it with Winn-Dixie’s expanding market.”

Winn Dixie, the 5th largest supermarket chain in the US, now competes with Whole Foods, as the Jacksonville based chain continues making locally sourced products a priority. While the new Publix has chosen Starbucks as their preferred coffee shop partner, Winn Dixie is choosing a locally sourced option with Kahwa Coffee.

Financial News and Daily Record notes that “natural and organic selections also can be found within the various departments. More than 4,000 such products are available, with 2,600 of them new to Winn-Dixie.” Kahwa is proud to be among this assortment now available to the Jacksonville community.

The husband and wife team, Raphael and Sarah Perrier, voted “Tampa Bay’s Best Coffee Roasters” by Creative Loafing readers seven years running, began roasting in 2006 at their St. Petersburg production site. Raphael and Sarah, the company’s first baristas, maintain an unwavering commitment to freshness through small batch roasting, after hand-selecting and blending the world’s finest 100 percent Arabica beans.

Co-founders, Raphael and Sarah Perrier, turned the locally roasted and packaged coffee into a national powerhouse, exploding their wholesale distribution to nearly 500 local and national restaurants and five-star hotels across the nation. Kahwa made multiple appearances on the television retailer, HSN, which named Kahwa “The Best Coffee Ever!”
