FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Vancouver April 11, 2017) – Doi Chaang Coffee celebrates ten years of their unique and groundbreaking business model by releasing their first new blend in four years.
Doi Chang village today, compared to when Vancouver company Doi Chaang Coffee began their “50% Grower Owned” business model ten years ago, is almost unrecognizable. Doi Chang, previously impoverished and heavily involved in the opium trade, is now a self-sustained and flourishing village equipped with wifi, a teak coffee house, a coffee academy and maintained roads inviting tourists up the mountain.
“Our relationship with the Doi Chang Village farmers was not motivated by the usual business approach of maximizing returns with minimal investment” says John M. Darch, co-founder of Doi Chaang Coffee “It really stemmed from our desire to help a village that despite all their dedication and determination had not been successful in helping themselves. With the help of our customers across North America, we have been able to give back and support or local and global community”.
In celebration of the success of the Akha people of Doi Chang Village and the North Americans that support the company, Doi Chaang Coffee is pleased to present “Buzzin’”, a bright, fruity breakfast blend. In this blend, their signature Thai beans mingle with beans from Guatemala, Peru and Sumatra for a perfectly balanced, ethical cup.
Customers can find this anniversary blend online and in retailers across Canada. For a full store list, visit www.doichaangcoffee.com
