Recognizing 13 years of excellent show management, the Seoul Int’l Cafe Show was given the honor of becoming the host event for the WBC 2017.

WBC is a grand event hosted by World Coffee Events (WCE), established by the two prominent international coffee associations; the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) and the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE). Also renowned as the ‘World Cup of Baristas’, WBC is the premiere international coffee competition produced annually by gathering all national competitors in one spot to distinguish the next world barista champion. Each and every year, WBC becomes the center of attention by all coffee lovers as national baristas from over 50 countries as well as coffee professionals and visitors participate in WBC.

“The hosting of WBC 2017 in Seoul is truly meaningful as it has been 10 years since WBC was first held in Asia.” says, Cindy Ludviksen, the Managing Director of WBC. “As a representative coffee event in Asia, the Seoul Int’l Cafe Show is expected to attract a large number of coffee industry professionals from throughout the region,” she added.

The Seoul Int’l Cafe Show is also a widely recognized coffee event within the domestic market. Seoul Int’l Cafe Show is the largest coffee event in the world, attracting 600 global companies from 32 countries every year. There is no doubt both events will prosper.

“We will put every effort to successfully host WBC and Seoul Int’l Cafe Show in Korea”, said Danny Hyundae Shin, CEO of EXPORUM. “I am sure both events will complementarily cooperate together and will cause a positive effect on each other,” he claimed.

WCE’s National Body, the Korean Coffee Association (KCA) will act as a co-Manager for the project, together with EXPORUM.
