This year’s results of World of coffee events held in Rimini, 9 – 12 June, met our expectations. After one year of practicing and testing our skills, professional knowledge and longtime experience Taf team gained two major awards, placing our company and its baristi among the most prestigious in the coffee world.
Stefanos Domatiotis won the first place in World Brewers Cup Championship, participating with a unique microlot geisha coffee from the producer Ninety Plus, washed processing. This coffee was roasted with craftmanship by Taf’s roast master. Stefanos controlled all the parameters such as the water’s TDS, the grind as well as the water’s stable temperature during the brew and made a perfect cup. Based on his experience and his passion along with his excellent perfomarnce he achieved his high goal!
Stefanos also coached Chris Loukakis, participant among 54 countries in the World Barista Championship. Chris got highly qualified as he played with three different coffees winning the 3rd place with his great techniques in making and service and his focused stage performance. Chris used three different coffee varieties for his espresso, cappuccino and signature beverage, following what he does back at Taf coffee shop in his daily routine. For his espressos he used a red catuai coffee from the farm Baquelito in Coban, Guatemala, for his cappuccinos he used a pacamara coffee from Santa Ana, Guatemala – both washed processed coffees. For his signature drink, Chris used a geisha coffee from Panama, natural processed, from the coffee producer Ninety Plus.
Their apparent talent and true ambition in succeeding along with the excellent quality coffees they used helped to achieve their goals.
All these coffees are included in Taf’s direct relationship program and have been roasted with different roast profiles to achieve their maximum potential.
Taf is really proud of its team!
