Pascal Press is a revolutionary coffee brewing product. Utilizing pressure, Pascal Press delivers unrivalled taste housed in a durable yet stylish travel mug. This Western University startup will be launching a Kickstarter campaign on June 21st, 2016.
London, Ontario – May 18, 2016
An innovative new coffee press – a truly portable one – will be launched by a startup company within Western University’s Propel Entrepreneurship Centre. The founder and inventor of Pascal Press, Alan Kalbfleisch, is a Mechanical Engineer with a Master’s degree in Thermofluids Engineering. Alan has fine-tuned the patent pending press that transforms into a travel mug as you brew. The design isolates the used coffee grounds from the brewed liquid so no over-brewing occurs. The next step in Alan’s passionate endeavor is a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for full production and sales.
Quality and portability is what makes Pascal Press truly unique. Normally, products in this segment offer one aspect at the expense of the other. For example, a Travel French Press allows convenience and portability but because the coffee maintains contact with the grounds it quickly becomes over-brewed and overly bitter. Other pressure brewing products, like the AeroPress, deliver high quality coffee, but require you to pour the brewed coffee into a separate travel mug, limiting its portability.
The goal of the Kickstarter campaign, launching on June 21, 2016, is to raise $50,000 (CAD) through pre-sales of Pascal Press so full production can begin later this year.
Key features of Pascal Press include:
A full immersion and pressure brewing process to make coffee smooth and strong with no bitterness in as little as 1 minute.
A press and travel mug combined into one durable yet stylish product.
A separate, isolated chamber for the coffee grounds preventing over-brewing and allowing for easy cleaning.
A leak proof lid and double wall insulation.
Impact resistant, BPA free plastic with a stainless steel flow tube and ultrafine mesh filter.
Pascal Press will appeal to coffee aficionados who can’t part with the superior hand-pressed, pressure brewing method; as well as active outdoor fans who strive for a great coffee on the trail. Pascal Press will give every active person a great hassle free cup of coffee that fits with his or her busy lives.
