Small-batch Roasted Coffee Shakes Up Memphis Morning Commute

Memphis, TN, 11/13/14: Ugly Mug Coffee, a Memphis-based roaster of organic / fair trade blend coffees, is opening a new artisanal coffee shop with drive through service. The shop will be at the intersection of Poplar Ave. and Perkins Extended and open late 2014. Hours will be 6A.M. to 9 P.M. Mon – Fri and 7 A.M.-7 P.M. on Saturdays.
Coffee fans can pick up a variety of freshly roasted and brewed blends, flavored coffees, frappés, espresso drinks through the drive up, or come inside to savor a pour over drip coffee crafted one cup at a time to order. “The café will feature 3rd wave coffee philosophy while creating an easy and welcoming café experience,” said Ugly Mug president David Lambert. “It’s unpretentious quality coffee for everyone.”
The shop will carry a selection of breakfast and lunch foods, as well as whole bean coffees. La Baguette, the Memphis French pastry shop, has crafted an exclusive cake for Ugly Mug using their signature Buttermoon flavor.
