A&E Coffee & Tea is excited to announce that customers will be able to enjoy special Honduran coffee, on behalf of Capucas Cafe, all December long. The coffee will be available in holiday gift-sets at all cafe locations. A&E Coffee & Tea attended a cupping competition at the Capucas Cafe Co-op, in Honduras , earlier this spring. Gift-set supplies are limited.
“We sourced some great coffees during our visit to Capucas, and we cannot wait to bring them to you! As you enjoy them you can know that they were grown sustainably by people who care about the earth and their community. They were also purchased and roasted with love in Amherst, NH,” says Emeran Langmaid, owner of A&E Coffee & Tea.
COCAFCAL, or the Cooperativa Capucas Limitada, is located in western Honduras near the Celaque National Park –a cloud forest containing the country’s highest mountain. The cooperative represents an estimated 12 communities from the municipalities of San Pedro and Corquin, in Copan. Together, they work to promote the sustainable development of their local economy through financial, technical, productive and marketing services for members and families.
“Our coffee is treated in a special way from the farm to the cup taking the utmost care in every step of the process to conserve quality,” states Cafe Capucas.
Reducing poverty and increasing standards of life for their community are their main objectives and ongoing development programs have benefited approximately 5,000 people in Las Capucas and surrounding regions. Members are dedicated to growing sustainable conventional, organic and Fair Trade coffees.
