In celebration of International Coffee Day on October 1, 2020 and International Day of Rural Women on October 15, 2020 the International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) is providing an opportunity to amplify the voice and visibility of anyone who empowers others through the recently launched “Empowered Voices” campaign.
Through October 31, 2020 donors can make a gift of $100 to the IWCA to celebrate a person that empowers them or others, personally or professionally. IWCA will create an IWCA Empowered Voices certificate for donors to share with the person they have recognized, and IWCA will highlight their work in web and social media communications. To participate, donors can simply make a contribution via the IWCA Empowered Voices Campaign online portal, and share the person’s name with a note about how they empower others.
“We have no shortage of challenges to navigate in 2020. And so I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the coffee industry and rural women than to amplify the Empowered Voices that can inspire us all to keep going toward a better tomorrow,” says IWCA Executive Director, Kellem Emanuele.
The goal for this campaign is to recognize 100 Empowered Voices, raising $10,000 to continue the work of the IWCA global organization to empower and strengthen the global network of chapters across more than 26 countries. Enclosed are two examples of people who have been recognized for their efforts to uplift and empower others. The complete recognition list can be viewed on the IWCA website (womenincoffee.org).
