Spectrum Outages Cause At-Home Workers to Flock to Coffee Shop

Spectrum customers in southern Oregon experienced widespread outages, causing many to find service at local businesses. The Rogue Valley Roasting Company in Ashland experienced early crowds to access free WiFi, despite the outages being beneficial for the business. At-home workers expressed frustration with having to leave the house to work, with some working late to compensate. Despite service restoration, some remain skeptical about the permanent fix or band-aid on top of the issue. Charter Communications reported that the outages were caused by vandalism, while Tuesday’s service interruptions were caused by ice breaking fiber lines. The outages were attributed to vandalism and ice causing fiber lines to break.
