Firefly Coffeehouse & Artisan Cheese in downtown Oregon will be donating 50% of all sales on Valentine’s Day to break ground on a new community library in 2021.
According to a release, Firefly Coffeehouse will be kicking off the 2020 Oregon Public Library Campaign Friday and signifies the official public phase of the campaign. More than $1 million has been raised to build the library, with an overall goal of raising $4 million.
“The vision of a 21st Century library in the heart of Oregon is so exciting,” says Jeanne Carpenter, Oregon’s elected village president and owner of Firefly Coffeehouse. “We’re building not only an educational monument, but another third space for our community: a place for gatherings full of thoughtful discussion to more our community forward.”
The 18 employees of Firefly Coffeehouse will also be donating all cash tips to the cause. Oregon Community Bank will be matching Firefly Coffeehouse’s donations, dollar for dollar.
