Black Rock Coffee Bar Rallies Around the Children’s Cancer Association
For the third consecutive year, Black Rock Coffee Bar, a national boutique coffee chain, is partnering with Children’s Cancer Association (CCA) to deliver joy-centered programmes to seriously ill children who require immediate emotional support in healthcare settings across the United States.
Black Rock Coffee Bar is hosting a “Give Back Day” on February 4, 2022, to benefit CCA’s JoyRx music programme, which aims to lift the spirits of young cancer patients and provide joy during stressful and painful experiences. Black Rock Coffee Bar will donate 100% of the proceeds from two purple-themed drinks on Give Back Day in each of its over 100 locations across the United States – the Lavender Vanilla Latte and the Lavender, Blue Raspberry, Raspberry Fuel® drink. Both beverages were created exclusively for CCA by Black Rock Coffee Bar.
CCA’s JoyRx music programme is always free to families and is delivered by trained CCA music specialists to patients. Each session allows hospitalised children of various ages and diagnoses to select the “music medicine” experience that is most appropriate for them. Patients can watch a live music session, request a song, sing along, or participate in music lessons using instruments from the JoyRx music cart.
“CCA’s JoyRx music programme is completely consistent with Black Rock’s mission of serving with care and compassion,” said Josh Pike, CEO of Black Rock Coffee Bar. “We are honoured to contribute to these children’s joy as they face unimaginable health challenges.”
“We are extremely appreciative of Black Rock Coffee Bar’s support of the JoyRx Music programme,” Danielle York, CEO of Children’s Cancer Association, says. “Give Back Day proceeds will enable us to bring more joy and emotional healing to children in greatest need through music.”
