As IHOPKC Scandals Mount, Kansas City Coffee Shop Says It Will Close Two Locations

Prefix Coffee, which leases two storefronts from the International House of Prayer-Kansas City, has announced that it will be leaving those spaces this year. The decision comes amid the ongoing controversy surrounding a sex abuse scandal involving founder Mike Bickle and other members of the prayer ministry. Prefix is jointly owned by three families: Joel and Lindsay Friedrich, Jonathan and Sarah Friedrich, and Colin and Melissa Dwyer. The affected locations are 3523 E. Red Bridge Road in south Kansas City, which will shut down “in approximately three months” and 12905 S. U.S. 71 Highway in Grandview, which will close “within the next 9-12 months.” Notion Coffee, a sister business that roasts Prefix’s coffee, will also relocate from its Grandview space. The owners of Prefix have not provided a timeline for the closures.
