China’s Luckin Coffee launches New SEO Black Cup Gesha Series

Chinese coffeehouse chain Luckin Coffee has introduced a new single origin espresso (SOE) Black Cup Gesha series, featuring Gesha beans sourced from Bench Maji, Ethiopia. The range includes Americano, Flat White, Latte, and Dirty, priced at $4.50 per cup. The Gesha series is available in limited quantities and is supervised by the World Barista Championship team. The SOE refers to single-origin or single-area espresso, known for its distinctive flavor and origin characteristics influenced by regional climate, soil, altitude, and other environmental factors.

Luckin Coffee has also introduced its Hambella range and SOE Yirgacheffe collection, and will offer the Sumatra Gayo range from early May 2024. In January 2024, Luckin Coffee was named its official coffee partner in China and South-East Asia by the Australian Open tennis tournament. Luckin Coffee’s logo will be displayed online and on television during the event.

In June 2023, Luckin Coffee opened its flagship store in Xiamen, marking a milestone of 10,000 stores in the Chinese market. This achievement has positioned Luckin Coffee as the first chain coffee brand in China to exceed 10,000 stores.
