You now have the option to improve someone’s day by paying it forwards when you visit Downtown Grind in Elmira for a coffee or breakfast sandwich, to meet up with friends, or simply to use their wifi.
A shelf was set up in front of the local coffee shop for community members to contribute food and books to people in need.
“We take ready-to-eat items, granola bars, fruit cups—basically anything that folks without a kitchen can eat,” said Sarah Caldwell, owner and operator of Downtown Grind.
Downtown Grind aided the community in several ways during the coronavirus outbreak, including this pay it forwards programme.
Caldwell explained, “We did a couple of separate drives for the transportation centre and for shelters in the region.” “All we wanted to do was contribute at a time when the majority of the country needed it the most.”
