She never doubted her aspiration.
Aisha Tedros was adamant about opening her own coffee shop.
On April 13, 2009, Tedros realized her dream by opening A.T. Oasis Coffee and Tea in Phoenix. The coffee shop of Tedros made Yelp’s list of the top 100 coffee shops in North America this year.
Tedros labored diligently for this. However, she is overwhelmed and grateful for the honor.
Tedros stated, “I want to continue sharing the culture we have and the love we have for the people of this community.” “I am fortunate to be here.”
Why this Phoenix coffee shop was just recognized as one of the best in North America.
Tedros’ family relocated from Eritrea to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, when she was 10 years old.
Coffee was an integral part of her life from a young age. It was not meant to be. Tedros never began another day without coffee after her father, who taught her to be grateful and trust in God’s provision, slid her coffee under the table when her mother wasn’t looking. Seven years of age.
“When my mother traveled, my father would give me a small cup,” laughed Tedros. “When I was sleepy in the morning, he would place a small cup of coffee beneath the table. He needed to tell my mother, “I trained her to drink coffee, so she can drink coffee.” I became dependent on it.”
However, coffee was a part of her upbringing from the beginning. She was raised in a community where coffee ceremonies were customary. Daily coffee was served, not only for its flavor, but also for the sense of community it fosters among Tedros’s relatives.
