DoubleShot’s Roastmaster Writing a Coffee-Table Tell-All

Tulsa iconoclast Brian Franklin is launching a coffee-table book about coffee, aiming to expose an industry in need of a gut check. Franklin, founder of DoubleShot Coffee Co., was a purist in a Starbucks world who lived in an apartment without utilities after living out of his car for two years. Starbucks alleged copyright infringement with his use of the word DoubleShot, but Franklin didn’t back down. The book, “The Coffee Purist,” will reveal a life he didn’t know about and the journey he endured to bring Tulsa the coffee he believes it deserves. Franklin is funding the book through a Kickstarter campaign, nearly $9,000 over its goal.
