The Top Easy-to-Grab Holiday Coffees of the Season

As the holidays approach and exams loom, campus coffee shops have begun preparing seasonal menus. Here are a few holiday-themed coffees to pick up on your way to class.

Coffeehouse Ellipsis (1259 W Devon Ave)

While Ellipsis Coffeehouse does not offer a holiday menu, they do offer a Cinnamon Chili flavour add-in, which is a fantastic option for those looking for a local coffee shop with a kick.

Metropolis Coffee Company offers a variety of seasonal coffees.

Company Metropolis de Cafés (1039 W. Granville Ave.)

Metropolis is the place to be if you enjoy the neighborhood-café vibe. Its seasonal menu offers a greater selection of coffees to sip while studying.

Cold Brew with Honey Almonds ($5.19, 12 oz)

With its not-too-sweet nutty flavour, the Honey Almond Cold Brew is ideal for a groggy winter day. Additionally, it pairs well with a productive study session in a cafe. A 12oz. bottle costs $5.19.

($4.79, 8 oz.) Blackberry Cobbler Latte

Without dessert, no holiday is complete. With an unforgettable bittersweet yet creamy flavour, the Blackberry Cobbler Latte fulfils the dessert role. The savoury blackberry flavour is reminiscent of the popular holiday treat, and the fruity flavour is unmistakable.

When combined with oat milk, the sweetness of the fruit and the smoothness of the milk create a delectable combination. The latte stands apart from all other holiday beverages and is an excellent substitute for the other holiday beverages available on campus. It is currently priced at $4.79 for an 8oz.

Starbucks has introduced a new holiday beverage for the holiday season: the Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte.

Starbucks Coffee Company (6350 N. Broadway)

As the temperature drops, the holiday season approaches, and Starbucks’ much-anticipated holiday beverages have been released. This year’s selection includes both traditional holiday beverages and a unique, new coffee to try.

Mocha Peppermint ($5.25, Grande)

Starbucks has you covered if you’re looking for a festive beverage to help you study for exams. This year, they’re offering the classic Peppermint Mocha, which is sure to infuse your daily routine with a little extra excitement. The warm, chocolatey flavour with the addition of peppermint syrup is a holiday season staple at Starbucks, costing $5.25 for a grande. While the drink is straightforward, it is iconic.

Mocha with Toasted White Chocolate ($5.25, Grande)

If you’re looking for something similar but a little more sophisticated, the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha is a good option. The $5.25 cocktail features white chocolate and a nuttier roast, giving a whole new meaning to chestnuts roasting over an open fire.

Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte ($5.45, Grande)

The following beverage on Starbucks’ holiday menu is more whimsical in nature. The Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte is reminiscent of the sweet aroma of sugar cookies baking in your grandmother’s kitchen. The drink itself has a few flaws, as the red and green sprinkles tend to float to the bottom almost immediately, but the presentation lives up to the name of the drink and the sugary sweet taste makes it a bold new and distinct holiday drink.
