By purchasing coffee this holiday season, you can assist homeless individuals in acquiring job skills and earning a living wage.
Mission Texarkana has been teaching homeless individuals how to roast and bag coffee, as well as how to sell it to the general public and earn a profit.
The organisation now has a kiosk on the ground floor of Central Mall.
Profits from the sale of coffee and chocolates made by area homeless are reinvested directly into their housing needs.
In Central Mall, a homeless group opens a coffee shop.
Director Cody Howard added that having the station in the mall enables them to raise awareness about their mission and the community’s responsibility to help those in need.
“This way, you can be certain that the money you give is being used to provide a service and is assisting a homeless person in a difficult financial situation to earn a living,” Howard explained.
