Brazil’s Huge Coffee Exports Could Bring End to Stunning Rally


Brazil’s coffee exports are down, but the volumes remain huge, a sign supplies are ample at a time when prices are surging over deficit concerns.

The world’s top grower and shipper exported 3.16 million bags of coffee last month, the nation’s Trade Ministry said Thursday in report. That’s down 23% from a year earlier, when shipments reached a record for the month. But it’s the second-highest volume ever for the month of December and helped 2019 to clinch the annual record.
