Older generations of coffee drinking traditionalists are crossing paths with a newer wave of coffee drinkers who are embracing modern technologies and brewing styles making the traditional robust cup of Costa Rican coffee a thing of the past.
Coffee is currently the second-largest export from Costa Rica, boasting a rich history from when the first coffee trees were planted in the early 1800s. In less than 50 years, coffee became the number one export.
