Court Orders Cuppa Joe Co-Founder To Pay For $170,000 Worth Of Coffee Beans


A founding partner of Cuppa Joe Coffee has been ordered to repay a coffee debt the company owes to WestCoast Coffee Traders.

According to a recent Supreme Court of B.C. ruling , in the summer of 2018 Robert Dean Price sought to get out of his longtime business partnership with Gord Schmidt, without Schmidt knowing about a $170,000 debt to the company coffee supplier.

“Mr. Price sought to sell his interest and remove himself from Cuppa Joe in August 2018,” Justice Jasvinder Basran said in an oral judgment. “At this time, Cuppa Joe owed WestCoast Coffee approximately $170,000.
