Protein Bar Founder Matros Sells Limitless Coffee To Keurig Dr Pepper


Chicago-based Limitless, which produces caffeinated sparking water and other coffee and tea products, is being acquired by Keurig Dr Pepper, based in Plano, Texas.

Limitless founder Matt Matros, who also founded the Protein Bar chain, confirmed the sale in a text message. Financial details were not provided.

Matros said he is joining Keurig Dr Pepper to “help build the (Limitless) brand” and is staying in Chicago.

Limitless, which also operates two standalone Chicago retail coffee and tea locations, was started in 2016. The company produces a beverage line of sparking waters that contain caffeine and is currently sold in Walmart, HyVee, Mariano’s and other grocery stores, as well as online through Amazon.
