Keurig Dr Pepper Expands Partnership With Lavazza

Keurig Dr Pepper and Lavazza are partnering to expand their brewing platform, bringing Lavazza K-Cup pods to the market. The company will continue to be the exclusive sourcing partner and manufacturer of premium Lavazza K-Cup pods, but will also add sales and distribution responsibilities in retail and e-commerce across the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, the company will incorporate Kicking Horse Coffee into the Keurig platform, providing consumers with another premium brand to choose from in a K-Cup pod.

Keurig, which introduced its first test model in 1995, has over 40 million households using its coffee brewing system. The company has thrived by opening the platform to other coffee brands, including Dunkin’, Starbucks, and Folgers, not owned by Keurig. With more consumers making their own coffee at home and aiming to replicate the premium experience of a coffee shop, more choice is expected.

Keurig, with a brand recognition of 90%, posted its ninth straight year of market share gains in 2023. Currently, a third of all coffeemakers sold in the U.S. are Keurig or Keurig-compatible models. The deeper partnership for Lavazza and Kicking Horse provides additional opportunities for reaching a wider audience of coffee drinkers.
