South Korea’s Coffee Imports Top $1 Billion for 2 Years in a Row

South Korea’s coffee imports reached $1 billion for two consecutive years, driven by growing popularity, according to customs data. The combined value of imported green and roasted coffee beans reached $1.11 billion in 2023, compared to $1.3 billion a year ago. Last year, the country imported 193,000 tons of coffee, down from 205,000 tons a year ago. The country imported 158,000 tons worth $637.3 million in 2018 and reached its peak in 2022. Brazil accounted for over one-fourth of imported coffee, with over 50,000 tons valued at $200 million. Vietnamese coffee came in second with 40,000 tons.
