Denim Coffee Innovates with Advanced Roasting and Flash Chill Tech

Denim Coffee, a Central Pennsylvania-based coffee shop, has expanded its operations to a 33,000-square-foot warehouse for roasting coffee and producing baked goods. The new facility, acquired in 2021, features a state-of-the-art recirculation coffee roaster from Italy, allowing for precise and rapid heating. This roaster allows Denim to roast 1,000 pounds of coffee daily. The company has also adopted flash chill technology, a US method for producing cold coffee that maintains acidity and taste better than cold brew. The technology cools hot brewed coffee from 205 degrees to 40 degrees in 30 seconds, and the coffee is stored in kegs for up to two months at room temperature or six months refrigerated. Denim plans to can the flash-chilled coffee by the end of the year.
