Hyundai, Kia Unveil DAL-E Delivery Robot Able to Carry 16 Coffee Cups

Hyundai and Kia have unveiled a new DAL-e Delivery robot, capable of serving up to 16 cups of coffee in an office. The robot, based on a model introduced in December 2022, offers advanced technologies such as autonomous driving and face identification, aiming to improve delivery performance in complex settings like offices and shopping malls. The robot is equipped with face identification technology developed by Hyundai Motor’s Robotics Lab and certified by the Korea Internet and Security Agency. The design is based on Plug & Drive modules, a mobility solution that combines a motor with steering, suspension, braking systems, and environmental recognition sensors. The robot can speed up to 1.2 meters/second and navigate easily around obstacles and narrow passages. Its enhanced suspension offers stable transportation and an increased cargo capacity for up to 16 cups of coffee and items weighing up to 10 kg. The robot is set to debut at IGIS Asset Management’s ‘Factorial Seongsu’ in the second quarter, aiming to revolutionize efficient food and beverage and parcel delivery services.
