After an employee at the Dunkin’ in Forty Fort allegedly told a police officer that he was no longer welcome there, the owner of the Dunkin’ has reaffirmed his support for local law enforcement.
Eric May, the owner of the Dunkin’, commented on a Facebook post that said “Just got news that the Forty Fort Dunkin’ Donuts refuses to serve any police officer.”
“I can assure you we love and respect all officers,” May said. “I have spoken with the officer involved, and he visits us multiple times per week and knows we feel this way.”
A post from Forty Fort police officer Andrew Labar’s girlfriend on Monday sparked a viral outrage as she recounted how Labar had been turned away from Dunkin’. The post has since been removed from Facebook, but May says that the incident is being investigated internally.
“We would never tolerate that type of disrespect toward anyone from our employees,” May said.
