Okay, I’ll admit that I’m the odd one out here because I’m not on TikTok, but before you start criticizing me, believe me when I say I’m well aware that I’m missing out on a ton of cool trends, life-changing hacks, and great finds. But, believe it or not, there are some TikTok-famous fads that reach the masses of old people like me who have not downloaded the app. Example: cereal contains glitter. Which is a boon, as who wouldn’t want to know that edible sparkles exist?
So I began to wonder, what sort of geniuses invented this bizarre, entertaining, and magical food? Thus, I discovered OffLimits, a brand of breakfast products that are literally breaking the internet with their innovative and unconventional offerings. They take great pride in their ability to go against the grain, think outside the (cereal) box, and redefine breakfast with their innovative and absolutely delectable line of products. As a result, I gave one a try and discovered that my morning did indeed require extra-delicious fun.
The DASH flavor, which I’ve consumed every morning for two weeks in a row, combines my two favorite breakfast foods in an absolutely amazing bowl. OffLimits collaborated with Chamberlain Coffee (yes, that’s Emma Chamberlain’s coffee company) to create this gluten-free, vegan, and naturally flavored cereal with a coffee flavor. All of these are significant benefits in terms of environmental impact, and they also make the product accessible to individuals like myself who are celiac or dairy-free.
I assure you that the absence of wheat and animal products does not diminish the flavor. They have a chocolatey, toasted, and nutty flavor, similar to that of a malt ball. Even after soaking in milk (or oat milk, or almond milk, or chocolate milk! ), the cereal’s little spheres retain an excellent crunchiness. Speaking of which, one of my favorite things about devouring a bowl of DASH is that the milk of choice gradually acquires a coffee flavor as I consume it. By the last bite, it tastes like café au lait. And as someone who previously consumed cereal with coffee instead of milk (oh, you did too? ), I can attest that this method is much simpler and tastier.
