7-Eleven to serve Fairtrade coffee across its 700 Australian stores
7-Eleven has improved the sustainability credentials of its coffee by obtaining Fairtrade certification for each and every beverage sold.
In addition to aligning with the company’s ongoing commitment to reduce its societal and environmental impact, the move to 100% Fairtrade certified coffee also positions the company as Australia’s largest Fairtrade certified coffee retailer.
“This Fairtrade announcement is part of our larger commitment to the environment and a key component of the launch of our most environmentally friendly coffee to date. Now more than ever, it is crucial to know where your coffee comes from and that it is traded on fair terms and under fair working conditions. This will result in a more sustainable future for coffee farmers, their communities, and our customers, according to 7-Eleven’s General Manager of Customer and Insights, Julie Laycock.
7-Eleven has also introduced plant-based coffee cup packaging and expanded its coffee cup recycling program.
7-Eleven’s Cup Rescue recycling program, which offers a discount to customers who purchase coffee in reusable coffee cups, is now operational in over 680 stores.
